Construction is an industry of variables. Designs change, ground conditions surprise, programmes slip, and the money follows all of it. What separates a project that recovers from one that ends in dispute is rarely luck. It is whether the contract was understood, the records were kept, and somebody looked at the position honestly while there was still time to do something about it.
I founded this firm to do that work properly, and to do it myself. Over more than four decades I have measured quantities on power stations and offshore platforms, administered contracts for royal estates and government directorates, prepared claims for contractors and taken them apart for employers, and sat as the independent party asked to determine which of two well-argued cases was right. That range is deliberate. It is very hard to advise a client soberly about the strength of a claim if you have only ever been paid to make claims look strong.

If your project is in difficulty, the most useful thing you can do is talk to someone early. The second most useful thing is to keep your records.
